Own a Rifle, Know the Rifle
A lot of people in south Palm Beach County bought an AR-15 or similar rifle for home defense and have barely fired it. A rifle is easier to shoot accurately than a handgun, but it has its own controls, its own malfunctions, and its own safety concerns inside a home. This training covers all of it.

Rifles and Home Defense in South Florida Homes
Many Delray Beach, Boca Raton, and Boynton Beach homes are single-story houses, townhomes, or condos with shared walls. That matters when choosing a home-defense firearm. We talk honestly about ammunition choice, over-penetration, where to store a rifle so it is secure but reachable, and whether a rifle or a handgun makes more sense for your layout and household.
Zeroing and Optics
A surprising number of rifles have never been properly zeroed. In Rifle Fundamentals we confirm your zero, explain what your red dot or magnified optic is actually doing, and make sure you can hit what you aim at from realistic home and yard distances.
Defensive Rifle at the Boynton Beach Outdoor Range
Defensive Rifle is three hours of movement, shooting from cover, reloads, malfunction clearing, and transitions under time. It runs at the private outdoor range in Boynton Beach, where the space allows real movement. Bring your rifle, at least three magazines, a sling, and the ammunition count Mike confirms when you book.
Common Questions
Do I need my own rifle?
Bring your own if you have one. Ask about rifle availability when you book if you do not.
Is a rifle good for home defense?
It can be, for some households. Mike will talk through the tradeoffs, including over-penetration, storage, and how your home is laid out.
