Mike Kneuer, Founder and Lead Instructor
Mike has carried a firearm every day for twenty-two years. He started Suburban Protector after seeing the same problem again and again in South Florida: people took a class, shot at paper, and went home believing they were ready. The instruction was not wrong. It just stopped before the parts that matter most, like moving, deciding, and performing when your hands are shaking.
Delray Beach Firearm Training brings that same approach to the people of Delray Beach, Boca Raton, Boynton Beach, Lake Worth Beach, and Lantana. Same instructor, same courses, same prices. More than 1,000 students have trained with Mike and Suburban Protector so far, from people who had never touched a gun to experienced carriers.

Greg Massari, Assistant Instructor
Greg works the line on group courses. While Mike is coaching one student, Greg is watching everyone else for form problems and safety issues that one instructor cannot see alone. He competes in USPSA and IDPA Limited Division, and his calm presence lets students push themselves without worrying that things are getting away from anyone.
How We Teach
Safety first, every time. Plain explanations of what to do and why. Corrections you can repeat on your own. No politics, no ego, and no pressure to buy more training than you need. If one lesson is enough for what you want, Mike will tell you.
Delray Beach Firearm Training is operated by Suburban Protector.

Second training session with Mike and there will certainly be a third. He doesn’t just run down a list of drills but actually provides individualized instruction and coaching. Mike paid close attention to grip, stance, movement, etc and demonstrated how to adjust. Making what felt like small changes ended up yielding big improvements
I’ve been training with Mike for self-defense, and I can honestly say he’s one of the best instructors out there. He’s patient, knowledgeable, and really takes the time to make sure you feel confident and safe. Mike explains everything clearly, focuses on proper technique, and always makes sure you understand why each step matters.
I took a Concealed Carry fundamentals course this weekend and our instructor Mike did a phenomenal job! The program was packed with info. Mike is a great teacher who clearly explains not just what we should do, but why that principle is important and effective. Each lesson was built on top of the principles from the previous lesson and then drilled on the range. I left a far more confident and proficient concealed carrier. I highly recommend Suburban Protector and any courses taught by Mike and his partner Greg.
