Right Between Both Ranges
Lantana has a geographic advantage most of our students do not. Palm Beach Shooting Center, the indoor range in Lake Worth Beach, is about 10 to 15 minutes north. The private outdoor range in Boynton Beach is a short drive south. That means you can take your first lessons indoors, then move outdoors for holster work and movement without adding much travel time.
Students come from the neighborhoods off Lantana Road and Hypoluxo Road, the streets near Dixie Highway and Federal Highway, the waterfront homes along the Intracoastal, and the small towns of Hypoluxo and Manalapan across the bridge. Some are new owners who want to learn properly from the start. Some are retirees who kept a handgun for years and never trained with it. Some are boaters and anglers who want to understand Florida’s rules for keeping a firearm in a vehicle or on a trip.
How Lantana Students Usually Progress
- A private lesson indoors. Safety, handling, and live fire at Palm Beach Shooting Center. Training gun and gear included.
- The concealed carry class. Two private lessons and your qualification for a Florida license application.
- Protector Level 1 outdoors. Three hours of fundamentals outdoors in Boynton Beach or at our private range in Okeechobee.
- Protector Level 2. Holster draws, movement, cover, and decisions at the Boynton Beach outdoor range.
Not everyone needs every step. Plenty of people take one lesson and stop there, and that is fine. Mike will tell you honestly what makes sense for what you want.

What Students Say
Delray Beach Firearm Training is run by Mike Kneuer and Suburban Protector. These are real Google reviews left for Suburban Protector by students who trained with Mike.
Standing and shooting at the range doesn't even slightly compare to this. You'll learn real life drills and skills that you hope to never have to use but you need to know. Mike is extremely knowledgeable, patient, and has a great teaching method. With Greg and Mike there's no way to walk away without feeling confident that if something were to happen, you are significantly more prepared than before taking the class. I cannot recommend this enough!
I came in as a complete beginner with zero experience and honestly a little nervous, but the team at Suburban Protector made me feel comfortable right away. They explained everything clearly, were very patient, and focused on real-world safety and confidence. By the end of the session, I felt way more capable and informed. Highly recommend for anyone starting from scratch.
