Private outdoor range used for Boynton Beach firearm training

Home Base for Delray Beach Firearm Training

Mike Kneuer and Suburban Protector are based in Boynton Beach, and the private outdoor range we use is here too. For Boynton residents that means the shortest drive of anyone we train, whether you live near the Boynton Harbor Marina and the Inlet, in the neighborhoods along Seacrest Boulevard and Woolbright Road, or in the large western communities off Jog Road, Lyons Road, and Hagen Ranch Road, including Valencia, Canyon Lakes, Hunters Run, Quail Ridge, Leisureville, and Venetian Isles.

Boynton Beach is also the city where we can offer the most complete range of training. Indoor lanes are good for fundamentals, but they cannot teach you to draw from a holster or move while you shoot. The outdoor range can, and it sits a few minutes from most Boynton addresses.

Why Outdoor Training Matters

If you ever have to use a firearm to protect yourself, it will not look like a lane. You will probably be moving, you may be drawing from a holster under a shirt, and you will have to decide in a second or two whether to shoot at all. None of those skills can be practiced at an indoor range with a one-round-per-second rule and a booth on each side.

The outdoor range in Boynton Beach is where we close that gap. Students work with steel and paper targets, barricades, and movement drills, with an instructor watching every rep. It is the reason Boynton Beach is the center of our advanced training, and the reason students from Delray Beach and Boca Raton make the short drive north.

What Students Say

Delray Beach Firearm Training is run by Mike Kneuer and Suburban Protector. These are real Google reviews left for Suburban Protector by students who trained with Mike.

★★★★★
I took a shooting course with Suburban Protector run by Mike, and it was an amazing experience from start to finish. We went over the basics like proper grip, unholstering technique, and aiming, then moved into practical self-defense drills that really built my confidence. Mike’s instruction was clear, professional, and easy to understand, no matter your experience level. He puts a big emphasis on gun safety and proper handling, which I really appreciated. I left the course with way more knowledge and confidence than I came with, and had a great time doing it.

★★★★★
Second training session with Mike and there will certainly be a third. He doesn’t just run down a list of drills but actually provides individualized instruction and coaching. Mike paid close attention to grip, stance, movement, etc and demonstrated how to adjust. Making what felt like small changes ended up yielding big improvements

★★★★★
I came in as a complete beginner with zero experience and honestly a little nervous, but the team at Suburban Protector made me feel comfortable right away. They explained everything clearly, were very patient, and focused on real-world safety and confidence. By the end of the session, I felt way more capable and informed. Highly recommend for anyone starting from scratch.

Boynton Beach Questions

Where is the outdoor range in Boynton Beach?

It is a private outdoor training range in Boynton Beach. The exact location is shared once your session is confirmed, which keeps the property private and makes sure no one arrives without a booking.

What can I do at the outdoor range that I cannot do indoors?

Indoor lanes usually prohibit drawing from a holster, moving while shooting, shooting from cover, and rapid strings of fire. The outdoor range allows those skills under supervision, which is why Protector Level 2, Level 3, and Defensive Rifle run outdoors.

Is Boynton Beach training only for advanced shooters?

No. Beginners train in Boynton Beach too. Private lessons and fundamentals work well outdoors, and an indoor option in Lake Worth Beach is only minutes north.

What does the outdoor range fee cost?

Range fees are paid directly to the range, not to us. The outdoor range fee is approximately $40 per person and the indoor range fee is approximately $20. Mike confirms the current amount before you book.
