Booking
How do I book?
Text or call 561-376-2818, or use the contact form. Every request is answered personally by Mike, and texts usually get a reply within the hour.
Can I book a lesson this week?
Often, yes. Private lessons and the concealed carry class are scheduled around your calendar rather than fixed class dates, so the soonest opening depends on range availability. Text Mike with the days you are free.
What if I need to reschedule?
Let Mike know as early as you can. Range reservations are made in advance, so earlier notice makes it easier to move your session.
What is the confidence guarantee?
If you do not leave your first lesson more confident handling a firearm, your next hour is free. It applies one time per student.
Cost
How much does a gun class cost in Delray Beach?
A private one-hour lesson is $125, or $100 per person for two and $75 per person for three or more. The Florida concealed carry class is $250. Protector Level 1 and Level 2 are $200 each.
Are range fees included?
No. Range fees are paid directly to the range. The indoor range is approximately $20 per person and the Boynton Beach outdoor range is approximately $40 per person. Mike confirms the amount before you book.
Can I buy ammunition at the range?
Ammunition is available for purchase. Mike will tell you the caliber and quantity to plan on.
At the Range
Can I take a firearm class if I have never held a gun?
Yes. Many students start there. A private lesson begins with safety and handling before any live fire, and a training firearm and eye and ear protection are included.
Can I bring my own gun to a lesson?
Yes, and it is a good idea if it is the gun you plan to keep or carry. Bring it unloaded and in a case, with ammunition stored separately.
What should I bring to my first lesson?
A valid photo ID, closed-toe shoes, and a crew-neck shirt. Bring your own handgun unloaded and cased if you have one. Ammunition needs are confirmed when you book.
What is the best first handgun for a woman or a senior?
There is no single answer. Hand size, grip strength, and how you plan to use it matter more than the brand. A try before you buy session lets you shoot several handguns side by side before you spend money.
Do you teach people with physical limitations?
Yes. Hand strength, vision, mobility, and recoil sensitivity are all things we work around regularly. Mention them in your request.
How old do you have to be to take a shooting lesson?
Adults may book directly. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and must meet the range’s own age policy, which Mike confirms in advance.
Florida Law
Do I need a permit to carry in Florida?
Since July 1, 2023, eligible adults in Florida may carry a concealed firearm without a license. A license is still useful for carrying in states that honor it. Check the FDACS concealed weapon license page for eligibility and current rules.
Does your concealed carry class qualify me for a Florida license?
The course provides the firearms training and instructor documentation used for a Florida Concealed Weapon or Firearm License application. Confirm current requirements with FDACS before you apply.
Delray Beach and Nearby Cities
Is there a shooting range in Delray Beach?
Yes. Delray Shooting Center is the public range inside Delray Beach. Our private coaching runs at Palm Beach Shooting Center in Lake Worth Beach and at a private outdoor range in Boynton Beach, so an instructor is beside you the whole session.
How far are the ranges from Delray Beach and Boca Raton?
Palm Beach Shooting Center is roughly 20 to 30 minutes from most Delray Beach addresses and 30 to 45 minutes from Boca Raton outside rush hour. See Where We Train for a drive time table.
Do you have a storefront in Delray Beach?
No. We teach at partner ranges rather than a storefront. That keeps lessons private and lets us choose the right range for each course.
Which cities do you serve?
Delray Beach, Boca Raton, Boynton Beach, Lake Worth Beach, Lantana, Highland Beach, Greenacres, and the communities in between.
Ready to train?
Tell Mike where you live, what you want to work on, and when you are free. He will reply personally to set up a time and a range.
